FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

You have questions about health insurance and Medicare. Most people do. Let me help you find the answers so you can have confidence in your decisions.

When can I enroll in health insurance?

Almost anyone can enroll during Open Enrollment each year, from Nov. 1st – Dec. 15th to start coverage on January 1st OR from Dec. 16th – Jan. 15th to start coverage on February 1st. If you miss that window, you need to wait until the next year’s Open Enrollment UNLESS you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period – because you move, or you lose your coverage, or have a major life change.

Do I need to pay for a consultation?

No. All our services are at no cost to you, the client. We love to answer your questions!

When I turn 65, if I am still employed, do I HAVE to "go on Medicare?"

You do not. Part A (which covers inpatient medical) starts automatically when you turn 65 (or after 24 months of disability) and costs $0/mo. But clients often need to apply for Part B (which covers outpatient medical). Whether you do or not depends on your situation and on what is best for you.
